Printing Service File License Question

I had a thought about 3D printing services. So a customer sends in a file to be printed that says that it can not be used for commercial purposes. Does the person/company who is printing have to have a commercial license for the model that they are printing for a customer? On one hand they are printing out the file for the customer to make a profit, but on the other they are not listing the model themselves to sell. I can see both sides of the argument and am curious what others think.

Yes, commercial license or a hold-harmless from the licensor.

Source: there is much caselaw from other industries’ service bureaus, many a ‘secret shopper’ looking for people willing to violate copyright in this fashion.

If you are making money from it, you are violating the no commercial use even if they bring the file to you.
